Job Description:

The role is for Team Leader of the lighting team in our clients London head office focusing on Westminster City Council, L.B of Greenwich and other clients in the London area, although there will be opportunities to work on projects across the UK, Eire and overseas. The role will require client facing skills and project management experience in addition to competency in street and exterior lighting design. The candidate should also be competent in the use of lighting design software, and basic AutoCAD skills would be an advantage.

- You will be a key member of the London Lighting Team carrying out lighting and associated electrical design of road and exterior lighting for a wide variety of highway, public amenity and transportation projects.

- You will be required to produce lighting designs and specifications from conceptual to implementation stages, undertake surveys and on-site measurements of lighting installations, assess environmental impact of lighting and prepare client reports for a wide range of projects.

- You will be required to prepare fee proposals and assist with bidding and marketing for lighting services.

- You will work as part of a team with Highways, Transportation and civil/structural engineers under the guidance of the Principal Lighting Engineer while able to act as technical reviewer and mentor for the other members of the lighting team.

Essential Experience

Significant industry experience of highway and exterior lighting design to BS 5489 and HA DMRB. Working knowledge of ILE, CIE and CIBSE guidance documents along with industry best practice.

Proficient in the use of specialist lighting and electrical software including Lighting Reality, Turbo Light, Amtech and KeyLIGHTS and competent in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Essential Qualifications

BTech HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
ILE Exterior Lighting Diploma or equivalent
Meet the requirements for “Lighting Designer” as defined in the ILE Competency Matrix

Desirable Qualifications:
Incorporated Engineer, IEng.
Associate Member of the Institution of Lighting Engineers

Personal Characteristics:
Team player able to work both within a team of lighting engineers and other disciplines, but also able to work independently without close supervision. Good English literacy and communication skills.

Job Purpose

Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer Hereford

A small building Services Consultancy is urgently looking for an intermediate building services engineer with a Mechanical bias to join their team in Hereford.

Your responsibilities will include HVAC, Water supply, Fire protection, Lighting, automatic controls, sanitation, public health, safety systems, acoustics and facade engineering.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of the following:

- Designing site-specific equipment.
- Commissioning, organising and assessing the work of contractors.
- Using CAD Software & other resources to design the systems required for the projects.
- Negotiate and develop project contracts and agree these with clients.
- Manage the spend ensuring that the work is kept within budget.
- Advise clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint.
- Oversee and supervise the installation of building systems, specifying operating and maintenance procedures.
- Facilities management.
- Working on projects in a short but accurate time.
- Liaise closely with other professionals such as builders, Surveyors, structural engineers and architects.
- Attend group and technical meetings.
- Working with detailed plans, diagrams and drawings.

The ideal candidate will be self motivated with ambition and drive who can help move the business forward. You also should have a significant amount of experience working on leisure and school projects.

You must be able to get the work done with minimal supervision.
