My client is looking for a Principal or Senior Energy and Sustainability Consultant to join their London office. You should be trained as a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant (building management and/or
design) and be a Qualified Energy Assessor at level 3 /4.
The ideal candidate should come from a Central or Local Government, Technical Services Dept or a consultancy background. You should be familiar with Building Regulations, including Part L.
Previous involvement with design or refurbishment of commercial buildings and Energy / Environmental in commercial buildings background.
You should be efficient in IT and the use of NCM model: iSBEM / Hevacomp /Carbon Checker.
Clear verbal and written communications skills is essential. You should be familiar with building services plant equipment and / or building fabric (typically office or retail).
Typical projects will include: Energy Audits and Energy Performance Certification for groups of commercial properties, UK wide (typically large office blocks). Carbon footprinting, smart metering and tenant billing exercises. Utilities procurement.
The main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Undertaking of site surveys and recommending cost effective and pragmatic improvement measures.
- Management of the Energy and Sustainability Team.
- Undertake energy audits of commercial properties leading to recommendations and further work.
- Undertake site surveys of commercial properties for the purpose of producing an EPC, enter data from site survey onto modelling proforma, liaise with team to ensure accurate understanding of site survey results.
- Attend and present reports to clients and property owners.
- Ensure all works under jurisdiction are of suitable quality, carried out on
time and within project budgets.
- Review existing products and develop business lines.
- Produce reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Input into development and enhancement of data capture processes to be used for EPC work
- Develop Utilities procurement business.
You should have experience in:
• Undertaking Energy Performance Certificates.
• Undertaking energy audits.
• Commercial building surveys encompassing fabric and /or building services.
• Project management.
• Report Writing.
• Team management and motivation.
The successful candidate should be qualified in any of the following: BEng /BA / BSc / HND
and have membership of one of the following Institutions: CIBSE / EI / RICS.
